Otago Champs 2014
The 2014 Otago Championship meeting was held at the Oamaru Rifle Range the weekend of 1 and 2 March with varying conditions throughout the two days. Seventeen shooters took part in this weekend event.
Saturday started off quite cold with a moderate wind coming in from the left at the targets and then fishtailing down the rest of the range. The tough conditions were evident in the results with only three possibles shot, two by TR shooters and one by an FTR shooter.
Sunday proved to be quite different with light wind and bright light and just enough change in the wind direction to flick you out of the bullseye.
The two markers supplied by Ashburton and the Oamaru marker were all quick at turning the target, this made for an early finish on Sunday giving those who had to travel plenty of time to return home.
