2022 Canterbury Spring Meeting results
The Canterbury Spring meeting saw 33 shooters turning up on Saturday, with 32 returning on Sunday. The programme was altered on both days, with thunder and heavy rain arriving during the 2nd 900y on Saturday afternoon and issues with the server on Sunday morning resulting in a 1-hour delay. Those who had managed to shoot their 900y string before the rain were either pleased or disappointed to have their scores wiped, but all took the decision with good humour and patience. The delayed Sunday morning start was a great chance for a natter and for Malcolm to distribute his pumpkins.
Reading the wind proved tricky, with many scratching their heads at different stages of 600, 800 and 900yards. Andre du Toit managed to keep his cool and snatch the belt from overnight leaders. Excellent shooting on Sunday by Jacob and Jess also saw these two winning their grades. Sam Riddle decided to have a go at FTR and led the field all weekend. Both FO shooters Mike and Murray displayed excellent shooting throughout the weekend, Mike winning by 3 points. Great to have a couple of FPR shooters, well done to Jarrod for his win.
Thanks to all the organisers and helpers, it was great to have some visitors watching too! All in all, it was a pleasant weekend with good friends. Full results and trophy winners attached.
