2022 Canterbury Autumn Championship
26 shooters enjoyed wonderful Ashburton weather for the Canterbury Autumn meeting. Sighting was tricky at times with bright sunshine on Saturday morning turning dull towards the end of the day and mirage causing some frustration with Fclass shooters on Sunday. At the end of day 1, John Snowden was only 1 point down with three hot behind his heels with only 2 down. Allan's near-perfect shoot for the two 15-shots at 600 and 700y on Sunday saw him winning by 2 points.
In B Grade the leaderboard also changed from Saturday, David Dick not being able to hold a 2-point lead with Daniel Alexander shooting a great 700y to take the B grade trophy. In C Grade Jason Henry held onto his overnight lead with a whopping 20 points ahead of his nearest rival. Les Grimsey was a treat to watch, 4 possibles over the weekend and a total x counts of 39 and winning FOpen with a clear margin.
The new FTR trophy went to Phil Gardiner, 1 point ahead of John Pearce.
The Centre X Excellence award went (obviously) to Les. The Combined Spring and Autumn trophies went to Allan White, John Miller, John Fleming, Mike Chui and Mark Alexander.
Thanks to the organisers and also to Kiriahi for writing up all the scores on Saturday.
