RIP - Don Bray

I received sad news last night that Don Bray, Patron and Life Member of Trentham Rifle Club died yesterday.  He has been a supporter of the sport for a long time and served the sport in many ways.  He joined Onslow Rifle Club in 1963 shortly after marrying Jillian, daughter of Eric Ballinger.  Don served as Treasurer, Secretary and President of the club for many years.  He continued to audit the ORC accounts until the club joined with Upper Hutt to form the Trentham Club.  Don has maintained an interest and provided support and advice as our Patron.  Don managed the Ballinger Family Trust that supported women in NZ shooting and new shooters for many years.

Don’s life has been a life of service to others.  He worked as an accountant in the BNZ and provided support as an auditor to many clubs and community organisations.  When he retired he also worked as a JP and a local magistrate in the court.
