RIP - Ralph Rippon

This morning's local paper advises that Ralph Rippon passed away 4th March at the age of 96. For the past few years he had resided at a Retirement village, his wife June passed away some years ago..

Ralph was a fine fellow and ran the HB Championship Meeting for many years after the retirement of Jim Burton. He had a lot of time for Upper Hutt and still remembered the time when Bob Hunter won one dollar at the Easter Champs and he gave it to him between 2 slices of buttered bread.

A service for Ralph will be held at Crestwood Chapel, 615 Heretaunga St E, Hastings, on Friday March 10 at 2pm. Messages to The Rippon Family can be made here online or posted to PO Box 967, Hastings, 4156.
