Incident
This morning, during day one of the Palma Match being held on Seddon Range at Trentham, two Channel Islands team members received minor injuries in the process of removing a round from the chamber of the rifle. The team members were treated on site by fellow competitors and medical staff as well as a surgeon from the Australian Team. They were transported for further medical assessment.
The NRANZ are extremely safety conscious and are most concerned this event has occurred.NRANZ and all International Teams were consulted and agreed that the event should continue. The Channel Islands team will finish the event with the assistance of other shooters.
NZ Defence have been notified and, as required by protocol, an inquiry will be conducted into the incident.
